Why would they take away a week of summer vacation? Was that even an option on surgery? All they asked was start date, 2 weeks winter break.... something else.... I don't remember making summer a week shorter.

Seems like a normal calendar. Now in the sense that every year is an F U to working parents then yes, I agree.

LOL, sounds like the MCPS' calendar, which has been that way for years. Solidarity. Also, aftercare.

Think of it as having to pay for one less week of summer camp. What do you normally do for childcare during the school year? SACC? It will be open on those random school holidays? Random afterschool program? Most of them will also be open on the school holidays.

Pathetic.

So much for the public input and all the money they wasted hiring a survey company (and the questions and answer choices were still poorly worded or didn't have a range of choices to select from).
Again, pathetic.

It's even less than that when you count the optional attendance "O" days....sadly

O days will be different next year. New content will be taught.

It’s not meant as a “F-U”, but it’s not in place for the parents at all. It’s for FCPS’s purposes and it gets a little easier every year, especially when your kid ages and they can stay home in their own.
