Everyone can spread it and kids are super low risk so if kids are young and healthy why does it matter if they get a COVID vaccine? We got our kids vaccinated to keep them from having to quarantine and deal with many of the rules but probably wouldn’t have if the rules were different. Are we really going to be the people who slap anti-whatever labels on others for asking questions and promoting balance in a constantly evolving situation? Yikes guys. Families need to make the best choices based on what that looks like for them and we should be giving space for that not moralizing and condemning people. This thread is disappointing.
Here's why it matters.
Vaccinated people, including kids, are less likely to get Covid and - importantly - spread it to vulnerable family members or teachers and school staff.
If teachers and school staff get Covid, it's disruptive even if their case is mild. They're missing school, subs are hard to find.
So -- if kids are vaccinated, there will be fewer sick people, including teachers, which means less disruption to schools. And if your priority is keeping cools open and as normal as possible, then you should be in favor of getting as many students vaccinated as possible.
That is why it matters.

Anonymous wrote:What’s going on with the anti-vax retweets? Hope someone balanced takes the keys because it’s going off the rails. FB debates over masking kids aren’t surprising but I honestly didn’t see the anti-vax (for kids) coming.
Anonymous wrote:Yes the anti-vac retweets are disturbing. Makes me feel like it’s just a cover group for right wingers which is disappointing. I too am a Facebook group member because I want schools open! If that means vaccinations and masks then I’m fine with that for now.
Anonymous wrote:Ugh. I did not see that. I am on the FB group because I did want schools to go in person (the original reason the group was formed) and I like to know what others are thinking, especially those who I don't always agree with. There are a few vocal anti-maskers and anti-vaxxers in the group but I haven't seen the group promote these ideas per se.
