This. Floor is ok just add enough material so that it’s warm and soft. You can’t just put kids in sleeping bags on the floor, unless you have a super plush rug, cause it’ll be cold & hard. Get either cheap air mattresses or camping pads and add comforters on top of the camping pads to make it plusher to sleep on.

Air mattresses like most have said, it's a simple solution.

Our 9 year old is having 2 friends sleepover this weekend. They'll be in the basement on a foam pad thing that is a foam mattress topper we ended up not using. She's slept on it before and says it's great. I think you can get one on amazon for pretty cheap.

When my son's (10) best friend comes to sleep over, she usually sleeps on the floor of his room on one of our air mattresses and brings one of her blankets over with here. Though they will also often fall asleep on the couch in the den watching a movie.

I would not think twice about having kids on the floor with sleeping bags. And unless it's hardwoods with no rug, wouldn't need anything under them.

In your scenario, I would put all three together in the pull out bed in the office. Or have two on the floor in the bedroom

When our kids are physically small, they smush into twin beds together. When they get bigger, we get them a trundle bed and pull out the bottom. You can easily fit three girls on that.

My sons didn't want a trundle bed, so we'd move the mattress onto the floor and one kid would sleep on that and another kid would sleep on the box spring. If there was a third, they'd sleep on the floor. Each of our kids has a sleeping bag, so we can pull that out if a friend doesn't bring their own.

Air mattresses should be fine. 1 full should do it since they are sisters. You are overthinking it. When we did sleepovers, we brough a sleeping bag and slept on the basement floor. Good luck!

What's the norm for sleepover sleeping arrangements these days? My DD (9) is having two friends (sisters) sleep over in a few weeks. DD has a twin in her room and we have a guest room/office with a pull-out sofa (double size mattress). We also have a twin air mattress.

Ideally we'd do the pullout + the air mattress but the guest room doesn't really have the floor space to accomodate that with the office furniture

We could do something like yoga mats / camp pads + sleeping bags on DDs floor, but is that bad hospitality for the guests?

I'm sure I'm overthinking this, but it's DD's first sleepover.
