NP here who feels the need to chime in. You have your LA facts wrong. Winter is our rainy season, and when it rains it hangs around for days on end. There was one winter - I think 2010 where it rained every single day for almost the entire month of December. that's just one example. Actually the average total number of rainy days in Southern California is between 45-50....not "5".
