Those weighing other options, what tipped the scale in favor of ERHS? Or vice versa?

There are a few students from his middle school that also attend. A couple of students here and there in his classes, and a few that he doesn't see at all. He found it easy to make new friends, but I think it was reassuring to have a few familiar faces around in the beginning.

PP here. This is correct. There were a couple of virtual sessions with lots of info shared. There is also a lot of information about the curriculum and courses on the website. Homework seems to vary a bit- I would guess between 30-60 minutes a night right now, but I don't really monitor this much. Some nights there is none, because he is able to get it done at school. So, yes he has plenty of time for other activities. I expect that homework demands will increase a lot as he gets further along, but right now it is fairly minimal.

I was a little worried before he started, since it is a big school and I wasn't sure if it would feel completely overwhelming. However, he settled right in and loves it. His teachers are great and they seem very approachable. The workload seems very manageable. No real surprises- good or bad.

Just a heads up that we still had to put a deposit at a private, since the ERHS offer came after the deadline for the private school.

9th grade DC has a couple of classes with less than 15 students and a few with 25-30.

hi just wondering what the average class sizes are for kids in the magnet program? have a rising 7th grader so thinking through whether private or applying for stem magnet may be a better fit. current school has smaller class sizes where he seems to be thriving...
