Whole foods. You'll have to hollow them yourself. You can likely put in an order at any store for the number you need.

New poater: I also have been unable to find at my nearby grocery stores: Giant, Safeway, Harris Teeter and Balducci's. Any specific suggestions (not Panera)?

It’s often sourdough and called a boule. Trick is funding smaller ones

Most grocery stores have them in the bakery.

Any advice as to where I can find those round bread things (for lack of better word) where you cut out a bit of the middle and the bread acts as a bowl to serve something like soup?

I don't know what this type of bread is called, but it's thick enough to contain soup.

I think my kids would be thrilled with this and I need to jazz up dinner.
