I looked up my alma mater, Virginia tech 2000, just to see what the process is. while it’s only $10 they only accept checks (unless you have a current student ID) so you have to write to them, send a check and then they will mail it to you. They do not do electronic transmission of transcripts. Very bizarre and a PITA.

What district? Loudoun accepted digital photos of my diplomas in lieu of transcripts.

IN my admittedly limited experience, volunteer organizations are happy to provide these kinds of letters.. NBD.

I graduated in 1997! My transcript was. Typed piece of paper.

Thanks for the replies. I’ll ask people related to my volunteer work. I’m not sure how much my college charges for transcripts. I assume they want undergrad transcripts?

If you volunteer as two different schools, then get the two letters from those schools. How much does your college charge for a transcript?

Ask the sub coordinator, either at district level or the school where you plan to work the most “I don’t have recent work experience, is there another way to qualify?”

Mine charges. Not that it would hold me back personally but yes it’s a ridiculous requirement. I was a high level leader at a financial institution and they didn’t require transcripts.

Your college should have a link to order transcripts. It is a ridiculous requirement if you have a degree.

Volunteer references are fine. One of mine was even from a teacher in a class where I volunteered.

Volunteer work references are often very ok, especially if they're relevant to working with kids, or something you've done for a long time.

I am in the same position. Masters degree, SAH but the professional references and need for college transcripts are a hurdle.
