Kept DD at current club because of the stronger coaching and program. But DS made the move because the boys side sucks at the younger age groups, well actually the whole boys program is weak.

OP here. Have you moved your kids to avoid one kid being overshadowed by the other? Both kids are competitive but one is always considered the more talented one and the “star player.” I’m considering moving the other kid so he can develop on his own without the distraction of being compared to his sibling.

NP, but the reason is in club vs club leagues, all age groups for a gender play against the same teams at the same location almost every weekend, but girls and boys are on totally different schedules. However, this is only for top teams, so if you have one kid on the A team and another on the B team, then it doesn't matter.

I know a family with kids with three different clubs and I am not envious at all! Not really sure how they do it.

My siblings and I all played in different dmv clubs. 2 girls, 1 boy. 4 year span in ages.

We all played for the best team in our rescue tube age groups which happened to be at different clubs. The clubs were all about 15-20 min apart.

I have 2 kids and they have spent several years at the same club and apart a few times for similar reasons and best fit. They both play Futsal for clubs different from their outdoor clubs too—and different from one another as well.

My kids played several years in the same club and have also been split twice. I’m in NOVA so there are 5+ clubs within 20-30 mins (and only one within 10-15 mins).

Didn’t love the closest club and one kid left first due mainly due to tryout timing. Kids stuck together a few years then the better player was looking for more of a challenge. Other kid stayed with the known friends and coaches. It’s not like practice is ever together or coordinated or convenient, so the two clubs thing isn’t really very different from having them both together

One kid wanted to be in a more competitive team so we moved him. My other kid wanted to stay and play with his friends.

With two kids, even if you are in the same Club you'll find your time split in all directions all the time.

Our friend's kids play in different clubs. Like others have said, they live close to both clubs and went for the best fit for their individual kids.

Considering it for next year if LB stuff is true.

We moved our older daughter to a new club in search of better coaching/training. It was also the start of the DA a few years back so we wanted her to benefit from that program (yeah, that went well...). We were good with younger daughter's coach at the time so she stayed. What I learned from the experience...there's good and bad in every club. Sometimes the devil you know is better than the one you don't. It all worked out fine, but the grass wasn't always greener at the other club.

But, I do think sometimes it's the right thing to do. Especially since player experience within a club can vary by age group/coach. And, siblings can have different motivations/goals/style in terms of what environment works best for them.

different needs for different kids. we liked the coaches at the younger ages for our kids but one older coach was a toxic mess. so we moved the oldest first and the others followed after the coach stayed at the original club
