Once the surge comes down hopefully masking no longer necessary…

We are definitely looking at leaving our Arlington diocese school.

I’m kind of thinking the opposite - anti-vax and anti-mask parents trying to switch from DC Catholic schools to Virginia privates. It’s tough to get spots now though so maybe not.

Because people are low-information idiots.

Closer than Bishop O’Connell?

Another option - PVI moving out didn't help.

Plenty of parents signed a petition that went around last summer pushing the ADW to get rid of masks and I don’t see anti-vaxxers suddenly becoming ok with getting their kids vaccinated by Fall.

In most Arlington diocese schools you get a significant tuition discount when attending in your home parish. (Can’t speak to DC, but I’d imagine it might be the same?) Other things being equal, I’m skeptical that mask policy would outweigh financial implications (and proximity) for most families deciding between schools.

I’m sure it will! We are in a Catholic School in VA, but had thought about moving our daughter to a Catholic HS in DC, but will absolutely stay where we are for now.

I think few people live close enough to the border for it to make much difference.

It’s interesting that Arlington diocese schools have become mask optional and will not require vaccines while DC Catholic schools will need to follow strict masking requirements and will require kids to be vaccinated in the Fall per the Mayor’s order. I wonder if there will be movement between the two especially since this is all happening around re-enrollment time.
