For national glory. The top 64 clubs anywhere have loaded schedules. This doesn't take over that, especially if you lose your region. I can see a national title being distracting for those that get to finals.

I have to agree with the OP because it's top clubs, not teams. Who defines the clubs? And we all know that certain age groups in the same club can have very different performance levels. The top team in the age group below DS has one of the top teams in the nation. Another age group - same club - can barely crack the top 30 in Virginia but since this is a really good club does that mean that age group that is doing badly would now be considered one of those top 64 elite teams?
