If you end up getting one, be sure to try out sport mode. It stiffens the handling and gives you a little more pep. And still gets great gas mileage.

You may be onto something here.

Accords are just louder. I was looking for a quiet car and I eliminated the accord after a test drive of the hybrid accord. It was nice to drive, but loud. My last car was an Acura; it was also really loud. I didn’t realize just how annoying that was until I got my Avalon. The Camry would have been good for us too—I just went with the Avalon because it was the same price as the Camry XLE hybrid. And I’ve always had a soft spot for the underappreciated Avalon.

That car is on its way out. Over 180K miles and 15 years old, so I am the market for a new car anyway.

The noise could be a result of your tires. Some tires are really loud. I might start there, versus buying a new car. You could even take it to a tire shop and just get their (free) opinion. (With the knowledge that they will want to sell you tires, lol)

I love my 2019 Avalon hybrid. Quiet, smooth, great on gas. Huge trunk for road trips. I drove all the things, and this was my pick.

Toyota Camry Hybrid is great. If you get the LE the gas mileage is as good as a Prius. We got the LE and then put in after market leather seats. Best of both worlds.

We are a family of three who drive long distances 2-3 times a year. No activities involving equipment so we don’t need overhead luggage racks or need to tow anything. My biggest desire is for a quiet car. Our current car is a Honda Accord, the previous one was a Camry, and I find the Accord so much noisier than the Camry. You can tell we are not into luxury cars but I am willing to spend for a quiet car that is still reliable. What cars should I consider? Budget is under 50K.
