The worse Tenleytown becomes, the more expensive AU Park gets. I don’t get it

Just curious what this means. . . ?

5 years ago this is very high end AU and look at price with a brand new pool

I saw this at the open house 5 years ago .. it is a great house -
So full of light and the pool is awesome. Still one of my favorites that I’ve looked at over the years.

PP. Meant to say "pay that kind of money to live there." I could see spending that kind of money leaving there when you upgrade to a big house in a more appealing area.

Curious about where you would live with that kind of money. We'd love to live in Tenleytown with our two small kids and have been looking with a 1.5-2 million budget (and $3 million if we can find a place big enough to accommodate aging in-laws) -- but wondering if our money is better spent in Bethesda.

We're not moving out of the neighborhood either way though. If we can't find a bigger place we're just going to make do with the small one. No amount of space is worth giving up a safe, walkable neighborhood with decent schools and good transit.

We are in the same boat - budget 1.5 - 1.6M! Ugh!

Great schools, public trans, extremely walkable. One of the best areas of the city... and they're not making any more land

Houses are up 20 percent in last three years. So 2.5 to 3 million is 20 percent.

Going to be very high property taxes new owner at next reassessment

This seems like a new "high" for the area -- not many comps that justify the price:

Still seems crazy to me that the buys bought 3 years ago, made no changes, and sold for $500K more than they paid (and likely even more given how quickly it sold -- I assume there was some escalation).
