where did you go instead? I specifically switched from Reiter Hill to GW so I can deliver at GWU because of their NICU (my niece and nephew spent 4 months at their NICU and I owe their life to GWU's good care...but that was years ago).

I'd just pick the oldest one.

What office do you want to go to for appointments? That’s critical to making this decision.

If Macri is still there, he is awesome.

I love Dr. Nelson. I've also seen Dr. Gaba, who was incredibly warm and friendly. Cigna delivered my first and was great, but I believe she is one who is leaving in the spring.

Just make life easy and mix. You won’t control who is on call at delivery anyway.

For regular ob gyns, my two favs are leaving in the spring, but I have had good experiences with:

Jamshidi (did my in-office d & c post miscarriage)
Farhi
Gorelik

Who are the two leaving in the spring?

I liked Lesko (female) and Madkour (male). I found Lesko to be a bit more of a straightforward OB, but still approachable and warm. She delivered my second by elective c-section; no complaints. Madkour is a bit more in touch with wellness/meditation/whole body care type doc, if that makes any sense. I know a lot of women don't like a male OB in general, but I liked him. He's worked in developing countries and is supposed to be good for higher risk patients (he didn't deliver either of my kids so I can't speak to that). I bounced between the two for my pregnancies, because it's so hard to get the doc you want on any given day. I found having two to choose from worked well to keep some sort of continuity. And even then, I saw a few others when neither of my preferred ones were available. A friend loved Dr. Sheth as well, but I think she's in the Bethesda office.

Of the MFMs I highly recommend Bathgate and Ahmadzia.

Thanks, PP! I’m too high-risk for midwives, but welcome all recent recs!

I’d like to deliver at GW and so would like a good OB there. I imagine I will rotate through the docs during pregnancy, but would love recommendations for someone to be my “primary” doc.
