LOL, totally agree. DD and I just talking yesterday about some of the more poorly performed parents on her team and how their daughters are faring now that many of them are in college. How did she know they were poorly behaved? Because a few of them would yell at her during games. So ridiculous.

Why is it causing issues on the team, PP? I can see it being a reason for everyone else to avoid that person (guessing it’s a dad), but why has he been able to cause any problems for anyone else?

Generally a few of the other parents talking to the problem parent has worked when it's come up on my kids' teams. Those teams haven't been super competitive in general though, so maybe it's a different dynamic.

We have a parent posting on here that nobody likes and they don't speak for the other parents on the team. It's causing issues within the team even though the parent is oblivious to how embarrassing they are.

We have 2-3 embarrassing parents/joystick sideline coaching parents. I just stand apart from them. One my kid's team there there are two types of parents and we've just kind of naturally self segregated at least during game times over the past five years of our boys playing together.

More embarrassed by the coaches during games.

Any time this has happened on one of my kid’s teams, the coach has had a talk or series of talks with the problem parent. Also, the rest of the parents will usually sit far away from the loud-mouthed one.

So hypothetically, if a parent on your DC’s team was obnoxious on the sidelines - yelling and demeaning the other team - what would you do?

There’s no right answer but food for thought.

Looks like the same NJ person to me. I don't exactly agree with Bethesda Dad but this person is taking it too far.

NP. I can easily believe this is a serious post as I’ve recognized people on here from some of my kids’ teams in the past, and there are definitely posters from time to time who make their club and team look bad.

However, I’m not sure why OP sees the need for an intervention. I doubt many people make decisions about which teams to try out for based on unhinged rantings on DCUM. When we’ve had crazy parents on our teams we’ve always just sat back and watched the show. The only reason I’d intervene is if someone thought the parent’s antics were likely to harm a child. I would never go behind a fellow parent’s back to the TD or board unless there was a serious problem.
