Already this year, Petra Kvitova, Sofia Kenin, Angie Kerber, and Coco Gauff have lost in the first round. So did the 2021 US Open runner-up Leylah Fernandez.
No wonder these players have mental health issues. One early round loss and they're "washed up" in the fans' eyes.
