Politicians in Baltimore are untouchable, even when they commit crimes. If Marilyn Mosby goes to jail, she could still come out and get enough people to vote her back in office. Sheila Dixon are in second in the mayoral race and Kwame Jackson is in office after leaving the NAACP in disgrace. Recycling corrupt politicians is why Baltimore will never turn itself around.
Mosby in both applications — for a $490,500 home in Kissimmee and for a $428,400 condo in Long Boat Key — allegedly said she was not delinquent or in default on any financial obligations, even though the IRS had placed a lien in Mosby and her husband’s property in Mar. 2020. over unpaid federal taxes.
The indictment alleges Mosby “falsely executed” a second-home rider in Aug. 2020 after finalizing an agreement with a vacation home management company, giving the management company control over the rental of the property. The rider, which allows a homeowner to rent out their property after living there for a year, allowed her to get a lower interest rate on the home than she would have otherwise, the charging document said.
Last March, federal investigators launched a probe into the finances of Mosby and her husband, City Council President Nick Mosby.

A Michigan Supreme Court Justice—top of the legal profession—was caught doing a real estate scam after the 2006-2008 Great Recession. If I recall, she sold her mansion to a daughter or something like that for $1, just to hide the asset, while walking away from a second home that was underwater, so the bank couldn't come after her primary home or other financial assets. Or something like that.
Michigan Supreme Court Justice Diane Hathaway is accused of hiding assets to justify a short sale of her home.

Baltimore City State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby is now facing federal charges of perjury and making a false statement on a loan application.
Mosby is accused of lying about experiencing COVID-related hardship on an application where she asked to withdraw $40,000 from her Baltimore City retirement account.
The indictment claims that she did not actually have any financial hardship due to Coronavirus, as required by the form.
She is also charged with making false statements to influence a mortgage company, in connection with a vacation home in Florida. She allegedly failed to disclose that she owed "significant amounts of federal taxes" on a mortgage application.
