Women are too stiff in Bogotá so don’t expect anything.

Try Cali or Cartagena instead.

I've been there on work but it was awhile back.

It is high altitude.

Floral stands on the outside of the city are amazing.

The thing that was memorable to me was on the weekends everyone drives out of the city to the countryside for the day.
This is a big deal as the population is around 7 million. At the end of the day families return to the city. Traffic is heavy.

The women are beautiful and women dress to go out. It felt in some respects like a European city to me.

Family life is important. You regularly see three generations in restaurants.

You could spend a few days in Bogota and a few days in another city like Medellin--that's what we did a couple years ago. The flights from Bogota to Medellin on Avianca were frequent, fast, and cheap.

I loved the food.

Go to the gold museum. Find a cool artisanal chocolate place.

Get thyself a beautiful hotel. I was impressed with the floral displays.

I only went for business. If I was going for pleasure, Bogota would not be my destination.

I too have only been for work, for a while I was going for 48hrs or so weekends.

It's kinda blah, always colder than you expect it to be. A few fun museums, and on Sundays they close the streets for markets and exercise. I didn't find the food as tasty as other SA destinations.

I would personally really like to visit Cartagena.

I've been to Bogota numerous times, always for work though. Honestly, I'm not a big fan. The weather's not great -- often chilly and rainy -- and the traffic is absolutely horrendous. I've never been there as a tourist, though, so maybe that's a better experience.

I strongly prefer Medellin. It's a lot prettier and the weather is much, much better. If I were going to spend a week in a Colombian city, I'd choose Medellin over Bogota in a heartbeat.

Zipaquira -- salt cathedral -- so cool. I used to go to Bogota a lot for work, but that was a while ago. Andres Carnes de Res was a funky, crazy restaurant. I heard they opened one in Bogota, but we'd go to the one outside of Bogota.

We went prepandemic and had a fun time. Make sure to check out the current conditions and take precautions to stay safe. Food was great and cheap. Did graffiti tour, hike up to church on hill overlooking city, guided hiking trip to waterfalls, and museums. If you have a whole week you may want to take a day trip or two. Interesting place to visit.

Considering a week long trip to Bogota in April. If you've been, please weigh in and tell me about your experiences.
