The deductible is certainly an issue. There may be some crime victims funds that would help out. And it is certainly worthy of a go fund me.
As to letting someone die in your chimney, the damage would most certainly be worse given how bad a dead body would smell. And most people are not that callous.
It’s not just the deductible. Pretty nailed on that once they file a claim their premiums will go up.
