You wouldn't request this in public, would you? Why not? Because it feels a little trashy.

I’m afraid of OP defines what trashy means to him/her, then she is toe a very biased line…

OJ is way too sweet and thick, so I cut it with carrot juice and water. So refreshing.

It's on the trashy side if, say, you are a hotel that advertises breakfast with orange juice, but you water it down to save money without acknowledging that to your guests.

If you are doing it for yourself, or for other people not paying for it and expecting undiluted then it isn't trashy. It's just diluted.

I do it all the time because juice is too sweet for me. I do not care what people think and I also think people do not give a flying fig how I drink my juice.

I think using terminology that is usually reserved for alcohol to describe your child's juice is a little trashy.

I think diluting your juice is fine, and agree it cuts down on sugar. I like my OJ with sparkling water though.

I'm not sure how bringing up the filtered part is anything but pretentious.

I don't know that it's trashy but I sometimes make a spritzer with seltzer and either oj or that lower sugar oj. The fizz kind of makes up for the diluted flavor.

I say trashy because it's not something we would ever do or request in a restaurant or as a guest in someone else's home.

I'm sure many of you think drinking orange juice in general is trashy. But for those that do drink it, do you cut it with water i.e. 6oz orange juice, 4 to 6oz filtered water? We do because I think it's too sugary and harsh without cutting it. I'm assuming cutting it with water is at least somewhat popular because Simply Orange and Tropicana both now sell a "50% less sugar" version now which is literally cut with half filtered water.
