In any event, it's not like Northam's department heads were spectacular. Giving a job to Tim Kaine's wife was about what you'd expect, and his Education head was a total idiot.

Absolutely.

So looking forward to a refreshing change.

Our children have been harmed by the current government, from the county level to the state.

Well just wait it will be worst under the dictates of republicans and Fox News.

I’m neither a liberal, nor bitter. Just answering the OP’s question and not impressed.

What exactly would you prefer for the Secretary of Labor other than a individual who was the former Administrator for the A.G. and the Virginia Governor as well as Asst Secretary for the U.S. Department of Labor and Transportation?

That's kind of the perfect resume. He's almost overqualified.

Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. George Slater.

You mean like picking a former coal industry lobbyist for Secretary of Natural Resources? Nope, not impressed. (Nor surprised.)

The quality people did not want to serve in a Trump administration— he got bottom of the barrel political appointees (unless you prioritize ignorant ideologues)

He's really getting experienced professionals - the kind that usually readily work for the White House or as a federal agency head.

Youngkin picks George Slater as Secretary of Labor -> https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/politics/first-read-dmv/youngkin-announces-labor-secretary-pick-promising-vec-fix/2929710/

Slater served as secretary of administration for former Gov. Jim Gilmore and as director of administration for the attorney general’s office, also under Gilmore.

Most recently, Slater served as assistant secretary for administration and management at the U.S. Department of Labor and assistant secretary of administration for the U.S. Department of Transportation under President Donald Trump, according to the transition announcement.
