OP and PP's, I really feel for all WFH mothers with young children. (((HUGS))) Please do whatever you need to make it through this yet again most difficult time.

I don’t have any advice, just want to say you’re not alone. I am feeling really low myself. Hugs for both of us!

I have been at home with my child since Dec 16th - they had covid so we were isolating and then now their school is virtual. I am a single mom so it's been super hard to get things done and I have to do paperwork nights and weekends (kind of like the original shutdown). My Mom just took my DC for 2 days and it's been glorious. She usually never does that. I must have sounded really down and out, haha. I also plan on taking a few mental health days in the next few weeks when my DC is back at school. Lots of screen time for my DC. A little bribing - if you go play and let me finish X then we will get take out, movie night, etc.

I have a two year old and screen time doesn’t buy me much time (she needs me to press play/fix something/engage constantly anyway) so I usually have to take leave. Lots of checking slack at the playground for urgent messages and trying to make up hours during nap time. It’s terrible.

To head off some of the interruptions, I leave a couple of bowls of snacks around, too. And cups of water. Kids and dogs aren't all that different.

Work with the rhythms of the day.
Plan that some of your work gets done early mornings or after bedtime.
Definitely work during naps and screentime.
Block out some time when you are not working this morning to take them outside and tire them out, make sure you give them your full attention during lunch and at select blocks of time during the day.
Try to plan and set up activities for them - have them set up a tea party for their stuffed animals or whatever and you will attend the party when the timer goes off.

Is there a high school student who can babysit? Also a work at home mom and that is what I am doing.

Mom to a 2 year old here. I worked until 11:45 PM last night. Of course now I'm fried this morning. I might just take leave today.

Can you take leave? I hate burning it on snow days but my sanity comes first.

Yup! I have a four and seven year old. The seven year old is ok with being lazy but it’s hard with the four year old, who has been out of school for over a month due to school quarantines and break and snow. I’m going to lose it and decided to send him to grandmas house for a few hours.

How old are your kids? Do you have a spouse? If they are elementary I would have no guilt putting on movies or let them play video games. Babies are harder of course!
