+1 Toddy. Been using the same one for 15 years. Cheaper coffee still tastes good so it’s a money saver, as well as being tasty and less acidic.

We use mason jars with individual coffee pods (Mayorga in Rockville sells some really good ones - they are basically like a tea bag and super easy to use). You don’t need a machine. I’m not even sure what a machine would do! My brother owns a coffee company and their cold brew equipment is a 5-gal bucket-type thing lol

I forget the brand, but we got one for Xmas from Amazon and it broke on the second use. It is moderately priced abs very popular, but if you look in the reviews, a bunch of people report cutting themselves on it too. Sorry I can’t remember brand right now.

I make it in a half gallon mason jar and let it cold steep for at least 12 hours - usually more like 24. Strain it through cheese cloth. This would also work in a French press and might be easier to clean up, but the quantity would be smaller.

It’s expensive to make cold brew. I haven’t used a machine before but previously used a Filtron. After a while I just started buying the gallons of La Colombe for delivery instead.

Actual cold brewing takes twice the amount of beans. $$$ Hot brew in a French press and refrigerate.
