If you think it’s an emergency and it can’t wait, call the on call doc and see if they can see you in L&D as an emergency

Oh my god, the privilege!!!! Safety first, OP. You don't know where your OB and staff live. Maybe they're some of the people stuck without power. The earth does not revolve around you.

Can you cut out the middle man and schedule the appointment yourself?

Additionally, OBs have to prioritize deliveries and emergency situations especially during a storm. I've know docs to camp out at the hospital so they aren't driving in bad conditions at the last minute.

Okay. But the staff that runs the OB office like the admin and clinic and sono people likely can’t come in.

Okay, so my DD’s orthodontist definitely closed on Monday. We were able to reschedule for Thursday, but that meant reshuffling activities. Is there an email you can use to reschedule today? That’s what DH did.

By the way, lots of moms on the DCPS website frustrated about today’s snow day, after Monday snow day, and Tuesday and Wednesday Covid test days.

It seems a problem is that teachers and office staff often live far away, and snow clearing and public transport are affected by Covid absences of those workers.

I can see why you feel more than frustrated, though, because your need is time sensitive. I hope when you are able to reschedule, the results of the testing will reassure you.

Just a vent. Was supposed to have a test Monday, but the office ended up closing Monday and Tuesday. I was able to get ahold of them on Wednesday to reschedule my appointment for today and it's closed again - I can't get ahold of them until Monday to reschedule.

I'm finding this incredibly frustrating given it's a somewhat time sensitive appointment (and very much feel for people who are having 8-week, 20-week ultrasounds and the like). The office can't even have someone rescheduling appointments during a snow day??

Please tell me my ob/gyn is not the only one who has closed all these days this week and that this is normal.
