This is the longest of long shots, but: we're looking for Hebrew-speaking/immersion child care in anywhere in DC proper for a child who's still way too young for any sort of preschool or pre-K (iow: not age-eligible for JCC or Sela or anything like that for a while.) Can't do the au pair thing, unfortunately; no room.
We'd be happy with an in-home or small daycare center, nanny or nanny share just generally... but since we're a bilingual OPOL home and the grandparents and younger relatives overseas don't speak English, the dream would be a child care provider who speaks Hebrew, to help us on that front between visits. It looks like there used to be an Israeli/Hebrew immersion daycare out in Rockville that may or may not exist anymore - but everything else around here even remotely in that vein seems to be for children who are all older, all basically English-speaking, and mostly (except for the JCC/Sela, which are limited to older kids) some degree of religious, which we aren't.
I know that secular Hebrew immersion daycare and nannies are a thing to some degree in NY, Chicago, LA, etc - but I can't seem to find them in DC. Are they not a thing here? (I realize they may not be a thing here.) Doesn't have to be mother tongue! Just someone who speaks enough ulpan Hebrew to communicate with a pre-verbal toddler.
If anyone has any tips or guidance or experience to share, we'd be eternally grateful!
Thanks
