Same as you OP. My girls are almost 7 and almost 9.

They are bestfriends. They chat for hours, read together, share secrets etc. It's amazing!. They fight too, but not as much as they enjoy each other's company. I think I cherish their relationship even more because my younger sister and I are a year apart and we have always had this relationship. We are still incredibly close in our late 30s.

I’m watching my 8- and 6-year-old girls slurp down hot chocolate after playing in the rain! It’s such a fun relationship to watch! They play together all day long and only seem to fight when they can’t agree on then rules of whatever make believe world they are in. I’m sure that will change as they get a bit older, but right now they are fiercely devoted to and protective of each other. They stand up to classmates and even their parents in order to defend against any perceived slights.

Two young girls and one more on the way! They fight and laugh so hard. Me and my sister talk everyday but she does annoy me but we tell each other. Yesterday she hung up on me and called me a B (I was being one) then we talked later.

Fighting is okay. Teach them how to say sorry and how to forgive. Because girls will FIGHT but more important is how you teach them to make up.

I have girl twins and they sound similar to yours. They’ll fight but then want to sleep in each other’s beds! My husband is not close to his older sister and my brother died several years ago so I hope my girls are best friends for life.

I only have one daughter, OP, but my sisters and I have the same age gap as your daughters: two years between each of us. Adolescence was rough (so much fighting over clothes) but the three of us are best friends as adults. We talk and text every day. They are truly one of the best things about my life!

My girls are 10 and almost thirteen. When they get along, they get along great, but there is so much competition. The youngest won a writing contest, the oldest plans to be a writer. The youngest hates reading, the oldest got second place in a class read-a-ton. The youngest is an amazing gymnast, the oldest is a talented dancer. They are like sugar and spice. The oldest is very go-with-the-flow and doesn't care but is also pretty sensitive and doesn't like change while the youngest gets mad quickly. She has very harsh boundaries and is very dramatic but is less shy and says what's she's thinking, she doesn't try to please others. As they get older they test each other a lot more.

Mine are 17 and 18 and the 18 year old is in college. They are great friends and hang out together a lot when the older one is home. They fought as kids/tweens but have gotten closer as they get older.

Mine are 13 & 15. They have grown apart somewhat as they began navigating adolescence, but I think they will get back to best friend status as they mature. I love that their talents lie in different areas, so they can do some things together but aren’t directly competing. And we do try to spend one-on-one time.

Two girls here, and they idolize each other…but they are still very young (5 and 18mo). I know they will likely argue plenty when they are older, but I hope I can always encourage a strong bond between them.
I’m an only, and DH is one of 2 boys.

My girls are twins, so I hear you on the “best friends/worst enemies” dynamic. So much competition. One has ADHD and HFA. Her sister complains about her all the time, yet I also catch sister in the act of mothering her. They may fight like cats and dogs, but if someone else picks on one of them, they’ll have to answer to the other one. They are protective of each other.

Following- we have two girls ages 3yo and almost 1yo. Not going to lie, DH and I both only have brothers so we are semi nervous to help them navigate the sister relationship!

We have four girls (three mine, one stepdaughter), and I love how close they are. They're now old enough that when they start fighting I can just yell, "Girls, stop fighting and start mediating" and one will assume the role of mediator and start helping them work out the issue. They rotate who gets that role based on who's least emotionally involved so it works out pretty fairly.

Maybe we have things in common? Mine are 7 & 9, best friends and worst enemies, giggles for hours, they actually have long conversations ( I had 2 younger brothers and they did not talk a lot), we do a lot of those craft activities from Target, ummmm.....? Just looking for a positive connection today!
