My nephew got one for Christmas a few years ago -- his "big" gift.

He wore it to a frat party a couple weeks later and it walked away. Buh-bye really expensive ugly coat.

OMG they come that way? I always assumes everyone just wore them everywhere like people who carry around a big logo bag and they got worn out because they are white sneakers. Wow I’m out of touch.

I've never heard of them until now.

For the same reason they were distressed jeans.

They aren't really all that expensive so the "wants to look rich" excuse doesn't fly.

There is a certain person that wears them. Wants to be fashionable but not edgy enough to wear luxury brands
