I know some DC guys who won't date outside the city. And I know some county guys who won't date in DC because of parking.

How far out in Fairfax County, OP?
Either way, I don’t there’s a lack of single straight people in Fairfax County if you are open to dating those from a broad spectrum of race, culture, and type.
If you are looking for a certain sort of bro-Y white guy, yeah those do tend to congregate in certain areas of Arlington and DC. But otherwise, men are all over the place.

There are tons of bro-y white dudes in Clarendon if that’s your type.

It is true that many young people in DC won't want to cross the river to date, but there are plenty who will and plenty who live in your area also.

When I was in my 20s and living in DC, I dated women who lived outside, including in Fairfax County. I went to her place every so often, but more often she came to visit me just because there was more to do where I lived. Why not hang out in bars/etc in DC or closer-in NoVa like Clarendon?

. I get hit on by 20-something guys at Tysons mall, Walmart, GMU, etc. Try there?

What are some of your interests? I think you’ll attract other people your age that live in the suburbs but probably not people who live in DC.

I’m not really limiting myself to where I live, but I’m wondering if other people will not want to date me if I’m outside of DC since that’s where most of the young people are.
