My almost 3 year old was evaluated recently for possible delay. He was almost 50% delay in literacy, like 17 months old level, but his receptive/expressive language skill is 10-20% delay (like 26-34 months level).
What does that really mean? They say that he can speak 1-4 word phrases, but he does not really understand sometimes what those mean. He did really poor on identity pictures by pointing on book picture, e.g. color, size, shape etc.
I know he has speech delay, and he does not like to read book or read to.
My older kid is gifted with high IQ (a few level above grade), and I wonder if all these mean my youngest has low IQ or potential learning disorder (pointing to that area)?
