I’d love to hear your tips. I’m not great with needles.

Regarding stress, try to make it a fun few days by ordering meals (I use an online service for weekly deliveries), have your husband help clean the house and do laundry prior to trip and maybe have more screen time with your daughter while he’s away. Agree on adjusting your mindset to make it a fun few days with you and your toddler. I had 4 transfers and my last was the most stressful physically and mentally (traveling and fighting with spouse) - that one worked!

Thanks for these ideas!

Is it ideal? No, but if you can't handle this how will you handle caring for two kids? It just is what it is. You can do it.

I would save DH pushback on work trips for when you are 3rd tri w a 28 month old. Good luck!

Thanks for these kind words. Yes, my clinic is very big on shots over suppositories.

Doesn’t seem like a great time to be traveling, though. Might it get cancelled due to omicron?

It won’t be canceled, no. They are back to business travel as usual.

This is not something I would ask a spouse to change a work trip. You can give the shots to yourself. Or you could ask at your clinic.

Not sure what you mean by “impact of stress” and how your spouse being home plays into that.

If I remember correctly, there aren’t activity limitations in day 2+ just to take it easy.

You’re right that there are no serious activity restrictions. I’m mostly concerned about the impact of stress on potential success, and doing the shots alone.

Not in a major way, unfortunately. My mom is deceased and my dad can help in a more limited way.

I want to know how others would feel about this. My DH’s firm just sprung this trip on him. He would leave the morning after our embryo transfer and be gone for 3 days. I would have to give myself the morning progesterone shots, which I’ve never done, and care for our 20 month old solo. She’s wonderful but it’s just more work during a time I was hoping to try my hardest to relax. And I wanted him there during those early days that feel so emotional. Our last transfer failed and I’m feeling more anxious now.

DH can tell his work that the trip isn’t possible, maybe attend meetings virtually - I’m not sure how this would go over.

Hoping for some perspectives from other women who’ve been through this process and having to balance infertility stuff with other life things.
