It's open air, without being a crappy little convertible. I turn 50 soon, and I'd love one, but our kids are in HS and we can't really justify it. There's no reason your DH shouldn't get one. If this is how he wants to manifest his midlife crisis, let him, and be thankful it's this mundane.
