UA 150 is the top recruiting event in the country for girls .... by a lot.

Getting into it pretty much guarantees multiple offers. Is it well run? No. That said, every D1 coach in the country is there.

The leading indicator, at least on the girls side, is which clubs are involved with the event, and more so can influence the selection process. They will tell you it's a fair game for all, but hearing from those who have actually been involved with these event they self-admittedly will say it's political. The smart clubs know to position themselves to be an integral part of these events. The outcome of who makes these teams suggests there is a direct correlation between club involvement and team rosters. Hats off to the clubs who put themselves in these positions. This is business and parents will spend their money with the clubs who can help make this happen.

^^^ oh..and forgot..they are all money grabs. So are college "prospect' camps, unless you are invited by the staff. I knew that going in. Still was worth the money in our case.

My son and daughter have done UA. Also, my son did Nike. Both were great. Not sure it helped w recruiting, but the competition was awesome. They both met a lot of kids in the area and got to play some really good regional teams. Helped with confidence too.

We did a couple others when they were younger. But that was more about experience and learning to play with new people.

Both kids play D1 now.

I’m a different poster, but we never had a positive experience from UA in any form or flavor.

Can you clarify what Under Armour showcase you are referring to? The UA 150 or the UA Underclass tournament or something else?

Showcases are 9 times out of 10 money grabs that have very political selection processes. They cause more anxiety than what they are worth. My DD got recruited to top D1, and the showcase stuff really didn't play a role. Club and HS performance meant a great deal more.

8th grade not important 9th grade god to build a resume. Focus on skills camps in 8th grade.

How important are showcases in 8th-9th grade? Besides UA are there any others that are essential to attend?
