We recently did a trade-in through Carvana. Traded in our 2018 Prius for a 2020 Subaru Forester. They were offering an insane trade-in value for the Prius. We payed the difference in cash, so I have no info on rates or loans. Overall we had a good experience and it was so easy and convenient. They delivered the Subaru right to our home and took the Prius when they left, barely looked it over. The Subaru was in better condition that I thought it would be in. You have 7 days to test drive it and decide. The day after it was delivered I took it to a Subaru dealership to have it inspected. We got our title and registration in a timely manner. Great experience, no complaints!

I used Cargurus, Cars.com, and a few other similar sites to identify available new-to-me cars. I looked at Carmax and Carvana but the prices tended to be higher. The best deals tended to be further away from DC - we bought from a dealership outside Baltimore.

Used car finance rates are around 2-4% depending on how old the car is, your credit, the bank you use.

I’d probably look at used car dealerships. My 2019 Toyota was was about $4k less than carvana is charging. You can still conduct the sale online.

I will need to buy a “new to me” car in the next 6 months.

I know this is not the time but has to be done.

Need a sedan so looking at Honda, Toyota or Mazda 3 or 6.

I keep seeing cars that fit on those two sites, but then I’m hearing those cars on available from others on this site. Which service would you use if you knew what kind of car you wanted and just wanted to do it online?

Also, we have great credit (800+) but don’t want yo spend more than say $20k. If we finance some of it, what rates are people getting these days for used cars?
