I prefer the dumb ones. My golden retriever is not smart. As my kids say: no thoughts, just vibes. Love her.

My maltipoo is so smart.
She was pee pad trained in two days. She’s never broken anything. She wipes her paws on the mat after a walk. When I say, “want to cuddle?” she jumps onto the couch and flips over so I can rub her belly. She recognizes all of her friends’ names and dozens of words. She can do all the puzzles she has but most of the time won’t bother because she knows she’ll get treats anyway.
She’s just the best.

My greyhound is clever. My dd and I were sitting on the sofa, watching tv. He didn’t like that there wasn’t room for him, so he went to the door and rang his bell to indicate he needed to go out. When dd went to the door to let him out, he trotted over to the sofa and took her place.

They are so smart that you must get obedience training for them or else they will be overwhelming.

My rescue dog from rural SC that didn’t even know any words and wasn’t housebroken at a year old can do all that too….. he knows about 20 words.

Im so impressed by how smart and clever and playful she is. She knows all her commands but doesn’t follow them unless she knows we have a treat with which to reward her! When we take her for a walk and she doesn’t want to walk, she tries to take the short cut as she knows that’s the way back home. When I catch her doing something bad, she looks at me with this look that says “oh-uh” and runs away!
