I never bother with the grocery store for this sort of thing. Target is the place to go.

The Giant now has big packs of paper towels on the shelving where holiday candy used to be. You can still find some individual bars and things but all gone are ANY plain m&m, or any red/green bags of Hershey or Mars brand candy. CVS next door was about the same.
