This is for new teqchwrs. Those already with licenses are not required to adhere to this yet.

Yes, it's part of what came out of the Kirwin commission.

This is fantastic news. We are requiring those that are caring for our children to be further educated beyond 12th grade. With this in place, I see raises for the employees. One step closer to Maryland providing FREE all day preschool/pre k.

I don’t think this is bad news, OP. It’s only for kids three and up and they should have qualified teachers.

This is for all new child care teachers working with 3 and up. Yes, this applies to daycares. MSDE now requires an associates or bachelors degree in only certain fields. If you think it’s hard to find a spot and that childcare is expensive, it’s going to get so much worse.
