Ok so wait are you saying DH and you both do things and your 4 and 2 year olds entertain themselves?

I know this sounds very dramatic but I am literally weeping. I have 5 and 3 year old boys and we basically cannot ever take eyes off them. We cannot cook, cannot clean, cannot relax.

We are deeply miserable and I often regret having kids.

My neighbor had the same problem, and got a series of au pairs that have made their life bearable. You need a support system, paid or unpaid!

NP. Some people have easy kids (I don’t either).

Sleep until the kids wake us up, the kids play while we have coffee and get breakfast going. Then the kids play some more. We took the to the park in the late morning but didn’t stay too long bc it’s chilly and windy where we live. Can home and made the kids hot chocolate, then lunch. Now you get one is napping so Dh took older one bowling and to pick up some grocery essentials while I relax/get laundry done. I’ll cook something tonight for dinner.

Work. Writing lesson plans for the week and drafting emails that are scheduled to send at 7:30 tomorrow.

Lazy morning— we all slept in. Some chores. DH went out to do shopping for the week while I get quality time with DD (kids yoga, dollhouse, and we did each other’s hair). Later DH is taking DD to a play date while I get a break plus do some meal prep. We’ll make dinner altogether later and eat, then everyone bathed and showers, reads books, listen to some music and play instruments, then bed. DH and I might stay up to watch Succession finale, but most likely we’ll save it for tomorrow so we can do an early bedtime tonight.

Morning playdate for youngest, driving lessons for oldest, trying not to lose too much hair between the two.

Very, very, very lazy parents. Happy kid given free reign to do whatever. We do some housework and errands but no one is dressed before noon. Occasionally we museum or hike.

Go out to brunch, sometimes with friends, hit up a park, go to some event in the city with one parent while the other parent gets stuff done at home (work, nap, whatever), then order in dinner.

Leisurely breakfast, chores, relaxing, grocery shopping for the week, and today we're checking out a local holiday market.

We have been hanging around the house today, not doing much other than relaxing. Will run some errands later. Usually we go to my in-laws around 2:00 for a meal but that's not happening this week.

Kids are 4 and 7. 4YO is turning 5 soon, once he is vaccinated we will resume their Sunday swim lessons.

Depends on the season, but right now it's swimming in the morning and whatever comes up in the afternoons.
