Why do this? Set him up with a credit card with a limit you are willing to pay per month. Give it to him.Let him Uber and use it for incidentals. Stop hovering.

The issue being on your profile: if something stupid happens (ie friend he’s traveling with throws up in car) it downgrades your rating with the drivers.

He needs a CC at college. Get him listed to one your accounts and link it to his Uber account. Also do Lyft as often one or the other is cheaper or more available.

This. My freshman has had her own account since she was in HS. I used to get notifications of her trips but they stopped at some point. Never bothered to look into why because I don't care where she goes while she's away. She's an adult and I'm treating her as one.

You can add family members to your Uber account and it will charge your credit card, but let your teen manage in every other way.

You can have more than 1 credit card in Uber. Add your credit card to his account for use on approved rides. I have a business card and personal card linked in mine.

Not OP but there are a lot of cities without that. I grew up in one and went to college in one that had inefficient buses. We could take them but it would take 2.5 hours to go somewhere it would take 20 min in a car. I paid for taxis in college before I had a car.

Don’t monitor his rides. If you want to pay, can’t you link his credit card to his account? You don’t want to see his rides at 2am. That’s not good for anyone.

Why do you need to monitor where he is going? I'd give him uber gift certificates to use on his own account and say that you can use $XX per month, so spend wisely.

I mean, if you want to be nutty and track him, do it through his cell phone (which I assume you are also paying for?).

Our son is a freshman in college and frequently needs uber to run errands in his city. Is there a way to allow him to order rides on my account (I would pay but also be able to see how he is using it) or alternatively to set up an account for him that I would pay for and be able to monitor but that would still allow him to order rides independently?
Have searched the web on this but the info I see is both unclear and contradictory so am wondering if anyone on this forum has figured this issue out.
