If a cop sees your expired inspection sticker in a parking lot, can you get a ticket?
And yes, I *could* find the time (and it takes forever, because there is always a wait) but I am not sure I'd pass inspection - last time my tires were acceptable, but on their last legs.
I already have new tires planned to be put on, on Dec 23rd. So I don't want to risk failing inspection only to have to go in again after getting new tires on.
Generally, it's just so much easier to wait to January because Dec is always such a pain. I kind of want to break the cycle so I get it in January, every year.

In DC, if you let the inspection expire, it triggers a trip to the DMV in order to pay the penalty fees. Whereas, if you meet the deadline, you just prepay online and go to the inspection station at your appointment time.
You might waste a lot more time if you don't meet the deadline. Be careful.
