Was also going to suggest Marika Meyer (not that I have used her myself, but sounds like the look you’re going for).

That being said, I once heard her on the Ballard Designs podcast talk about how people were too intimidated about entertaining and that a bowl and a bag of chips was a good start. She might have very wealthy clients and have incredible homes, but she also seems to remember what it's like to be kind of normal.

Yeah that is great and I like her a lot but nobody is hiring her for less than a staggering sum.

To be clear, that is great and she deserves it. I’m just saying OP can’t get good recommendations without posting a budget.

Budget for what?

For whatever the project is. When you call a designer, you are going to have to lay out some parameters -- what you want done, what your timeline is, how much you can spend, whether you are hoping to incorporate some things you already own, whether this is part of a remodel, whether this part of a house you'll be redecorating over time, etc.

Yeah, I mean OP you can just call up Bunny Williams or whatever if there’s no budget.

My style is traditional, yet I do not want a home that is too dark (think too much dark wood, brown couches, etc.) I'm looking for someone who can make a home look traditional but light. Does that make sense? I despise mid-century anything. I love beautiful crystal chandeliers and Chesterfield sofas. If you know of someone who might appreciate this style and working with it, please let me know who they are!
