I aim for one leaf (kale, spinach, lettuce); one fruit (raspberries, apples, cranberries, strawberries); one nut/seed (almonds, cashews, sunflower seeds); one cheese (parmesan, feta); and dressing. Ideally I don’t need to do any prep work at all, except for slicing the fruit if needed. Otherwise, it is all open the container/package, add in a bowl, and dress.
Whatever plus canned chicken. Yes, canned chicken. It's next to tuna at store and it's surprisingly decent. Better than lots of places cooked chicken unfortunately
I also take flavor combos from restaurant salads I’ve enjoyed - like watermelon, arugula and feta. Though I’ve never made that and it may be beyond simple.
