OMG- me too. But I do know the origin of my phobia - It was something random from childhood that just stuck with me.

I have it too. I didn't know what it was and was a biology teacher and talked to one of my colleagues about how spongey bone made me nauseous. Years later he sent me an article in the washington post about the condition. Made complete sense. Ever see those things in potpourri, the things that have seeds missing? Ugh. Just thinking about it makes me feel sick. Don't get me started on honeycombs...

OP, this actually got some media attention when one of the new phones was introduced -- maybe the latest iPhone? It was a phone where the camera had not the old one or two but three lenses, looking like three black holes on the camera. Apparently in some people it created reactions just like you mention, feeling a range from skeeved out to almost sick. I had never heard of the condition before seeing some news items about that phone, but the articles did raise some awareness that the condition is a real thing. I'm sorry you have it and maybe, like someone said, exposure therapy could help.

Exposure therapy is supposedly good for this stuff. You do 2 seconds, 5 seconds, 10, etc. until it's tolerable

I have suffered from “Trypophobia” my entire life.
(I am fifty-two.)

Meaning any + every time I see a cluster of organized (or unorganized!) bumps or holes, I immediately feel nauseous/creeped out or just really itchy + uncomfortable.

My worst moment was when I was watching a Michael B. Jordan action hero movie (cannot remember the title).
The scene where his skin is covered in a cluster of organized bumps on his chest made me leave immediately.

Seeing holes on a sponge 🧽 or even a sugar comb freak me out as do a beehive and bedbug bites.
The worst is of course the “Surinam Toad.” 😳
That toad who gives birth through a cluster of holes on its back.

Please….
