Oh and when he was your child's age, the tablet only came out when Osmo was out, so we didn't get too much whining to use the other features of the tablet.

We have an Osmo and several of the games. Some of them are perfect for 3. Like Monster. There are many games that your child can grow into. My kid has mostly outgrown Osmo at 11, but we all enjoy playing the pizza store game and using Masterpiece once in a while.
It's a very interactive platform. It would figure into your screen time. Maybe in the beginning you would be playing on it with your 3yo.

Little background. My 3.5 year old watches about 30 minutes of tv 5 or so times a week. We play the occasional board game at home. No one currently has a tablet in our house and we haven’t let her use phones other than for FaceTime and looking at videos of herself. Would Osmo + a tablet be a good gift? I can’t figure out if it’s to old, or if introducing a tablet right now is a bad idea.
