I think that happened to me last year. I had to search online by store before finding one where I could pick up most of the items I needed. It was way out in VA, but ultimately worth the trip. Once there, the furniture men were really nice, Tetris-ed all the furniture into my small car, and wouldn't even accept a tip.

Nothing is available. This is a good time to learn to be satisfied with whatever it is we all have which is likely plenty.

OP here. Kids table and chair, along with a bunch of organization-focused accessories. None are available for delivery or in local store. Very frustrating. They're all on Amazon but of course for twice the cost.

If it says the table and chairs are in stock (in the furniture area), it’s probably worth going. Run through the lower level and get as many of the organizational things as you can find, then get the table and chairs. Fill in with Amazon.

I share your frustration but I think given the inventory they move and the traffic in stores, it’s probably impossible for them to do better. You didn’t used to be able to check the stock online at all! Better than nothing.

This. Ikea delivery/shipping isn't from the physical store, it is from the warehouse that delivers to you (you can't select different one). Also, for store pickup option, item may be in stock but not available for pickup if below certain quantity threshold, like less than 5 in stock.

OP is it furniture? The online inventory is risky for decor-type things but okay for furniture imo. The key is, print out the list that has the aisle and bay numbers. Then enter the store through the exit. Don’t walk through the showroom at all, just go to the back of the warehouse area to get a cart and proceed using your list. Iirc there was even a “sort by weight” option for the list. Then you check out, and then you can go to the desk by the exit door to arrange delivery and/or assembly if you want it.

I was trying to buy something that I needed 30 off. The store said they had 45. We could only find 15.

I played this game on IKEA’s website for weeks trying to buy a sectional. Seems their system is pretty screwed up. I eventually gave up and bought a (much) more expensive one elsewhere. And then received notice that it is backordered forever.

That’s because the warehouse closest to you is out of it. And they don’t want to ship it further or can’t make the 2 day shipping

I don't know about Ikea, but I have noticed Target might show an item in stock, but say not available for pick up/shipping if there are only a few OR perhaps if the items is a lower $$.

But the website said it wasn't even available in the store either. The entire order! Plus, the entire point was to try to avoid the ridiculosity of shopping at IKEA stores. Sounds like from others' responses that delivery just doesn't work for IKEA. Has anyone had success? Is this a pandemic issue?

Title says it all. Trying to place an online IKEA order. All items say they're available for delivery. However, on the check-out screen, it says they're neither available for delivery (my preference) OR for pick-up in a store. I tried a few different zip codes. So.....they're not actually available after all? What gives?
