OK, good for you I guess. If you didn't know there are plenty of restaurants in the DC area at a $200+pp price point, you clearly haven't been paying attention. If you did know and you just wanted to virtue signal about your frugalness, get a life.

Ilili at the Wharf, Moon Rabbit at the Wharf and Rooster and Owl are my recent favorites.

This is where DH and I went for a nice anniversary dinner on a trip to DC after not being in the area for a while and it was delicious.

Best at that price point:

Ambar in Capitol Hill (not the one in Clarendon) can be surprisingly good! They do small plates.

Also, Agora on 17th (Turkish/Greek) and Osteria Morini in Navy Yard

Lapis in Adams Morgan

Disclaimer: haven't been to Maidan

Sorry - not sure the price point - IIRC between 200-300 pp

I also enjoyed Albi. Seven Reasons is one of my favorites.

I have heard great things about Imperfecto, but have not yet been myself.

The Lyle hotel restaurant is pretty great and SO underrated.

Just at at Albi for $200/pp (did the set table but ordered cocktails instead of the wine pairing) and I highly recommend it. Everything was amazing, and the service was impeccable.

Bonus if it’s a restaurant that has a tasting menu. We want a restaurant that is really delicious but we have to keep it to $200 or less per person. Where have you eaten where the food was phenomenal. Of course if it’s more expensive than $200 pp that’s okay too. I’ll add it to my list of must try places.
