Subject: How can a Canadian high school kid get recruited for an American college/university?
You asked about football, but a lot of Canadian lax players come down to US Colleges to play. All of the top programs have guys from Canada. In addition to normal Lax, they play Box Lax in the winter up there and I guess it makes them sought after.

Almost all of the Canadian prospects played for the same prep program there (Clarkson).

If your dream is the NFL, there's a whole different set of rules compared to even your average recruit.

Penn State has I think 5 Canadians on its roster; many are starters. The backup QB played at Bullis for a year or two. Perhaps as US private can get one on the radar.

Earlier poster here - I was also figuring, that since kid was being recruited in Canada (and focused on the nfl) he would already have a recruiting profile and that is the “video” he would send to coaches.

I would assume it would be the same way as American kids do - he should contact college coaches and send video, as well as look into visa programs.
International students come to the US all the time. Most college websites have specific info on how to apply as an international student.

Canadian relative's kid is currently a junior and is being courted by some Canadian colleges for football. His dream is the NFL, though, so he wants to get into an American college/university.
