I'm looking for healthy eating ideas. I'm obese and looking to lose weight with a lifestyle change so these recipes are things I hope to incorporate into my everyday life.

Also, I'm on multiple psychiatric medications that are known to cause significant weight gain, so this is an uphill battle. One medication works by stimulating the hunger area in the brain, so this may be impossible, but I'm hoping to incorporate tasty, healthy recipes that I'll want to eat.

I'll start:
My favorite is spinach salad with feta, cranberries, red onion, and an orange juice and olive oil vinaigrette. Chopped nuts are good on it, too.

OP, sorry to tell you but that salad is not going to help with weight loss. Feta, nuts, dried cranberries (tons of added sugar) are all calorie dense items that turn a heathy salad into a high calorie meal. The orange juice vinaigrette likely has a lot of sugar in it too. As a general rule, pick nuts and cheese to add over dried fruit- but not both. Pick one. And make your own dressing. I think an OJ based one can be fine if you make it yourself and don’t add additional sugar.

Not op, but I disagree. She can have both nuts and cheese as long as the portion size is moderated. Having something dry and crunchy and something else creamy can really make a salad and keep me much more satiated and less likely to want to add on a grilled cheese or something. I'd also mix in some kale or cabbage.

Dp. I also disagree. The salad is fine. HOw much feta and cranberries do you think they are dumping in. Just use a measuring cup. One of the issues I have found is people cut out fat or sugar completely, which just leads to more dysfunctional eating. Eat everything in moderation.

Op, I actually would mix up your salad by swapping out the feta for goat cheese. Also I love roasted veggies. Cut up whatever you like, olive oil, salt and pepper plus what ever spices you like. Put in the over at 400 for 20 mins your so and you have a great side. Or you can put an egg over easy on top.

spinach, arugala, roasted beets, mandarin orange slices, walnuts, and goat cheese tossed in a bowl. I could literally eat that every single day.

https://food52.com/recipes/68405-harissa-chicken-with-leeks-potatoes-and-yogurt

I make this with chicken breasts (bone in and skin on, but you could do skinless if really watching cals or pull off the skin) and low fat yogurt. It's not entirely diet food, but feels pretty healthy and is filling.

I make soup with low sodium broth, cubed rotisserie chicken or white beans, chopped spinach or kale, cubed butternut squash, quinoa.
Add red pepper flakes and parmesan cheese to taste.

I love eggs. Most mornings I eat 2 scrambled, and add some spinach or sauteed onions or mushrooms. It is a good kick start to a day of healthy eating. Here would be the rest of a healthy eating day for me:

Lunch - turkey or chicken or tuna with spicy mustard on whole grain toast. I add whatever veggies I have on hand or sliced apples.

Dinner - broiled salmon with evoo, s/p, lemon, touch of honey. Small portion of rice or roasted potatoes, and lots of roasted veggies (all veggies taste so much better roasted, I just used evoo, s/p/garlic but you can play with spices).

Snacks are what kill me! I try dole out serving sizes of nuts bc otherwise I always overeat them. Popcorn is good and plain yogurt with fruit.

My best advice is - start your day with a healthy breakfast, then no matter what you’ll have made one smart choice. Also, I often find that one good choice makes the next good choice easier.

Good luck!

Put in a magic bullet/food processor: Tamari almonds (from costco)
Once almonds are ground, add garlic, basil and canned diced tomatoes (mostly drained).

Put into a pot, add a can of aduki beans, heat to serve

Add tiny circle quinoa noodles (cooked) or healthy pasta of choice.

The texture is really good and it's quite satisfying.
