I have adult kids, OP. I would be devastated if we didn't have a good relationship with them. I would take any and every opportunity for a picture. Why would you criticize that? And why do you care what your sister posts on Facebook?

I get it OP. My whole extended dysfunctional family is all about keeping up appearances and getting the right BS photo. The family I created is all about actual love and connection and we don't post or boast on social media. I stopped cooperating with BS photos. I just say I don't like being in photos. I just don't like lies.

OP and OP's sister's parents, hence the kiddos' grandparents, host Thanksgiving for the extended family. Typical if grandparents have a larger home and/or centrally located.

How fake? As fake as people who love to take pictures make it out to be. They would have done the same thing without Facebook, at least in my family.

They've been estranged from the two young adult kids for about a year, yet they both posted a family photo from our parents' home from yesterday, with a totally disingenuous over the top caption. I will never understand why people do this. We could all see the two young adult kids avoiding them the entire day yesterday. Yet that five second snapshot is used by her and her husband to portray their perfect family.
