And if you're going to attempt this type of thing, do a test-run prior to Thanksgiving (or at least ask dcum for pro tips).

Keep it simple. Sometimes it seems the harder you try, the worse the outcome. Kudos for attempting fois gras stuffing and homemade pie.

Make notes on your recipes! It’s easy to think you’ll never forget, but it really helps to make notes each time that something is particularly good or goes wrong. My pecan pies are normally great – but this time I literally threw it away instead of serving.

I tried my hand at foie-gras stuffing and it tasted like gum found at the bottom of a junior high desk.
My turkey was dry as leather and no amount of gravy could conceal it.
My apple pie was gluey and tasteless, and my husband told me so.
I spent all day slaving and nobody ate much. I am very annoyed.
