My kids both have ADHD and took AP Language and Comp in junior year along with AP Calc AB. It was not super demanding, although how it's taught may vary by school. DS, especially wasn't sure he wanted to take it but the teacher encouraged him to do it.

Otherwise, I'd agree that if he really likes math, AP Physics would make sense.

I think Physics 1 makes sense if he likes math. My DS is in APES (environmental) now and it’s a lot of work. Not hard but tons of work. He is also in APHUG and loves that class. You could also consider AP macro or micro.

It has some memorizing (like the environmental protection laws).

Statistics is another subject to consider. It helps with any STEM field (including behavioral sciences).

AP Physics 1 is Algebra based math. Physics C is calculus based. DS is an 11th grader taking Calc BC and Physics C Mechanics. He didn't take AP prerequisites for either. Not sure I'd recommend that intense path for everyone but it works for him.

I'm not sure what NSL is. As for AP English Lang I heard it was very intense. Wasn't sure if it would pair well with AP Calc AB for someone with executive function issues.

I thought of those, just wasn't sure how difficult they were. Someone said AP Pysch may require a lot of memorization. Not sure.

I have a sophomore now and have a course selection question as we prepare for college. If this question is not allowed here I apologize.

He has to take at least 3 AP classes by Junior year (school rule). He is taking AP Computer Science A as a sophomore. He will need at least 2 AP classes next year. He will take AP Calc A/B for sure. Trying to figure out a 2nd AP class that is not too insane as I'm sure AP Calc A/B will be stressful.

I know many kids take 3+ AP courses junior and senior year. That is not my son.

DS has ADHD and has poor working memory. Classes that require lots of memorization are not great for him. We think he needs to avoid all the AP Social Studies like APUSH, AP World History, etc... Any recommendations on a good class to pair with AP Calc A/B that won't overwhelm him too much. All his other classes will be honors. He does not care if the AP test is hard. He cares about the class and whether it will destroy his GPA. So if for example, AP XYZ is not a tough class but is a tough exam then he would be open to it. If AP MNOP is a tough class but an easy AP exam, then he would rather pass.
