The kid used to play for VDA on a 2nd or 3rd team, but now is playing ECNL and is playing up a year. The kid is not very good and is slow which actually hurts the team playing in the midfield. The team is not very good being a lower tier team in the U14 age group. To add, this parent has made numerous recommendations to the coach resulting in 4 Latino players joining the team for this year at this dad’s recommendation. These players were supposed to bring this team to the next level, but the team continues to be a losing team. You can tell this coach favors these kids more than the rest of team and they all start every game though only a couple should start cause there are better players in those positions on the team. Basically. this dad has the coach wrapped around his finger as every now and then there’s a new kid at practice and guess who recommended the kid to tryout?

So what can be done at this point? Is there anything that can be done in this situation? Or do we just shut up and continue to shell out $2500+ a year for this BS?

You play on VDA and you call out Latino kids. So clearly you’re a redneck. Why don’t you get your kid to quit soccer so you two can hunt and fish on the weekends? Problem solved.

OP, if you strongly feel that the coach is favoring other players, whether or not it’s valid, then it’s time for you to move to another club/team.

Unless you are a soccer geek that thoroughly understand players’ talent, soccer IQ, speed of play, positioning, etc., I caution you against making rash decisions. What we see is not necessarily what the coach sees. Parents are sometimes biased too. Lastly, a player could be great but a coach looks at how productive that player plays in a team.

Is this Herndon or Sterling ? Lot of Latino's in those soccer leagues.

Neither Herndon nor sterling are in ECNL.

Interesting. He used to play for the VDA 3rd team? So did my DS. Now playing ECNL and up a year? Sounds like my DS again. Not very good and slow? Darnit - I think you must be talking about me.

I've actually been recruited by a group of Satan worshippers from a different team to bribe the coach and get him to do things which actually ruin your team while pretending that they are to improve the team. I was wondering how long it would take you to notice.

Is there anything you can do? I guess you should organize with the other parents. The trouble is several of them are on my payroll now. The new ones I've had the coach bring in are obvious of course, but I've got a couple of others you don;t know about who let me know everything you guys say so I can stay one step ahead.

Bwahahahaha

Stupid troll

You probably thought Gulliver's Travels was a novel about a man who met a bunch of little people, giants and monkeys. On second thought, I doubt you ever read the book let alone understood it.

This sounds a lot like what happened with a LMVSC team except the dad ran a recruiting service and his kids played all the time.

This. VDA doesn’t have 2nd or 3rd teams. The 2nd or 3rd teams are PWSI or VSA, but not VDA.

Coaches are always looking to improve the squad and add strong players. Regardless of where they came from or who recommended them a coach will always add stronger players. I have some news for you, if the coach found 20 stronger players tomorrow then the entire current team would be replaced.
